December 24, 2025
From The Desk of Dennis Hart, Executive Director: 2025 Holiday Message
As we approach the close of 2025, I want to express my sincere gratitude to you and your company for your steadfast support of the Chemistry Council of New Jersey. This year has been marked by meaningful progress, strong engagement, and important advocacy victories; successes made possible only through your partnership and participation.
Throughout 2025, our industry faced a fast-moving and often unpredictable policymaking environment. Yet together, we rose to the challenge. CCNJ effectively represented your interests in numerous consequential bills, including securing significant amendments to the Protecting Against Forever Chemicals Act, a major achievement that ensured the legislation remained workable for manufacturers while still supporting sound environmental goals. We also continued to provide clear, consistent advocacy on behalf of our members on a range of complex regulatory issues, always grounded in science, facts, and practicality.
As we head into the final days of December, our work does not slow down. This year’s lame-duck session is expected to be especially active, with legislators seeking to advance numerous proposals before the new session begins. We are closely monitoring a series of energy-related bills, particularly proposals to expand nuclear generation, that, as currently drafted, may negatively impact our members. Rest assured that CCNJ will remain fully engaged to protect your interests throughout this period, even as many prepare to enjoy time with family and friends.
Looking ahead, 2026 will bring a new Administration, a new Legislative Session, and new opportunities to advance the voice of New Jersey’s chemistry sector. The incoming Sherrill–Caldwell Administration and the 222nd Legislature will usher in fresh priorities and perspectives, and CCNJ will be ready on day one. We will continue to advocate, educate, and collaborate to ensure policymakers understand the tremendous value our industry brings to the state’s economy, workforce, and communities.
While the months ahead will be demanding, I remain optimistic about what we will accomplish together. The strength of this organization comes from you: your commitment, your expertise, and your trust in us to represent the business of chemistry with clarity and credibility.
On behalf of the Board of Trustees and the entire CCNJ staff, I extend my warmest wishes for a joyous and healthy holiday season. May the New Year bring continued success to you, your families, and your teams. We look forward to building on our momentum, and achieving even more together in 2026.
Happy Holidays,
Dennis Hart, Executive Director
